Kerry Bevin
Kerry Bevin is the political leader of the Party. He is the Party’s spokesperson on Economics, National Assets, Defence and Veterans’ Affairs.
Kerry was born in Wanganui. After 10 years as a teacher, he came to Auckland in his early 30’s to work in sales.
Although he is a university graduate in Education and has a Diploma in Teaching he respects the “University of Life”
“As a parent and proud grand father I have a wealth of life experience that equips me for the House.”
Kerry is a former teacher, salesman, counsellor, sportsman, coach, men’s activist, with an interest in the arts.
Kerry has worked at the Men’s Centre in Northcote for many years. The Centre helps fathers distressed by relationship break-ups and the ensuing problems with custody and access.
“Masculists” recognize that the importance of fathers has been seriously devalued in our society. We need to get Dads back into the family.”
Kerry has a firm belief in family as a building block in our society.
Another of Kerry’s interests is Direct Democracy
He says he’s proud to be standing for a party that advocates Citizens Referenda.
“Democracy isn’t about leaving politicians to do what they like. A healthy democracy demands participation and must provide its citizens the means to do so.”
