Republicans Pledge Real Service Abroad
Another monumental moment this week in NZ politics, says Republicans Deputy Leader Bevan Berg, “with Clark and Key agreeing again.”
You would expect that the Prime Minister and the leader of the opposition would disagree often, but when they do agree, we need to ask the question,
“Is their agreement a noble cause or are they both simply defending their skulduggery?”
The overseas expedition led by retiring speaker Margaret Wilson, with other retiring MP’s in tow, is an example of what voters detest; another holiday at their expense.
Don’t the PM and the leader of the opposition realise that this is the sort of behaviour that is discussed in the smoko rooms of working New Zealand, and grows further animosity toward our politicians.
“The excuses from Clark and Key in defence of this trip read like a pledge card promising a fertiliser subsidy for mushrooms farms,” says Berg
Republicans understand the intensity of this issue; it is one that is often raised with us on the streets, and we do not support the position that National and Labour have adopted.
For service abroad, Vote Wise - Vote Republican.
