Mt Albert Launch - Kerry Bevin
Kerry Bevin, Political Leader and candidate for Auckland Central
Dave Llewell’s launch, Mt Albert
23 February 2008, Sandringham Road
Hello Mt Albert
We’re pleased to be here today to support our candidate Dave Llewell
Llewell is the box to tick for Mt Albert and Republican is the box to tick for Mt Albert.
Since the birth of the Republican Party prior, to the last election in 2005, I have now spoken to thousands of people around New Zealand.
There is a huge level of dissatisfaction with Helen Clark, the Prime Minister.
It’s time to say, bye bye Helen.
I’m proud to support Dave Llewell in Mt Albert. He is just the man to get rid of her
So if you are here in Mt Albert you need to tick Llewell and you need to tick Republican
It is time for a new start in this country.
You might well ask, who am I, well I’ve been around. I am the grandson of a miner on the West Coast who was a proud Labour Party man.
Now he would turn in his grave if he saw what Helen Clark has done to this once proud party.
It is now yesterday’s party. It is a hollow shell of itself. There is now a large accumulation of sins, which we could talk about for a long time.
It is time for a New Start and it is time to return a Republican. It’s time for a real New Start in New Zealand. It’s time to vote Llewell in Mt Albert.
Let me tell you about a friend of mine, an educator. She was telling me that in her class she has a child that is the product of two mummies. The two mummies agenda doesn’t work and Helen Clark and the left wing girls brigade have brought in this aberrant social engineering that doesn’t work. I know people in education and in families who have seen the affect of this kind of thing happening.
Helen Clark and the left wing girls club are responsible for this aberrant social engineering.
Bye bye Helen, it’s undermining our families as is Sue Bradford interfering with normal parental discipline
We need a binding national referendum on smacking. Parents still need the tools to discipline their children and there is nothing wrong with a smack.
Helen doesn’t believe that and panders to people in the Green Party like Sue Bradford and other members of the girls club so she can remain in power.
The disillusion and disquiet is now widespread. There‘s a quiet revolution going on in New Zealand, and it is time for a new start, a big change, Bye Bye Helen.
The other major issue that Helen Clark has failed to deliver on in nearly a decade of administration is reconciling significant Treaty grievances as a result of which there are disturbances in this country, which most people are now sick and tired of.
Helen has been dragging the chain on Treaty reconciliation.
The Republicans will bring 5 Ways Forward with a new constitution.
They will bring 5 Ways Forward with Direct Democracy liking a binding referendum on smacking
They will bring 5 Ways Forward with the family restored not undermined as has been going on in the last decade.
They will bring Centrenomics, a new model for the economy, which will encourage bosses and workers to work together.
This is a much better model with business incentives, protection of assets, a tax remix that will support the family much more and various other aspects.
5 Ways Forward will bring Greenpak particularly focusing on alternative sources of energy.
It’s time for a New Start with 5 Ways Forward and the Republicans.
The way to bring this about in Mt Albert is to tick Llewell and Republican when you front at the elections.
We’re pleased to have a working man like Dave Llewell standing for us in Mt Albert and he is launching his campaign well out from the election because it is time to tip the Prime Minister out in her own seat.
Just as Howard lost his seat in Australia, it’s time to tip Clark out in her own seat.
Let’s do the same thing as the Aussies, let’s tick Llewell for Mt Albert and this country will move on.
We need to stop looking at 1840, we need to be looking towards 2040.
Llewell is the man who will do this, you need to tick Llewell for Mt Albert, you need to tick Republican
The Republicans make a profound pledge and Dave has already made that
The Republicans pledge service above self. There are far too many lunch eaters in Parliament at the moment concerned about advancing their own personal wealth and well being and securing a comfortable job.
It’s time to get rid of the lunch eaters like Helen Clark from Parliament.
The Republicans pledge that their service above self will include
A pay cut, MPs salaries will be only twice the average wage. That is certainly enough to represent somebody in Parliament.
A cut in perks. Actual expenses will be limited to the period of employment.
Millions of tax payer money has been wasted on MPs who do little more than eat their lunch. It’s time to get rid of them.
A cut in seats in the legislature, We’re talking about major electoral reform here. We are talking about one general roll. It’s time to unify this country.
We have a bizarre situation where we have a Maori roll and a general roll
We need to work together. The Republicans pledge one general roll.
The Republicans pledge that there will be one MP per 45,000 people. That is a very fair representation for people and would amount to something like 93 seats
The Republicans pledge to cut corruption, which has been rife under Helen Clark’s administration. The Republicans will review party spending of tax payer money
Let’s be clear about this. Helen filched hundreds of thousands of dollars of tax payer money and spent it on the Labour Party to stay in office. This is unacceptable.
The Republicans will repeal the Electoral Finance Act because not only did she filch money, but she is also trying to repress criticism and free speech.
This is unacceptable
The Republicans also pledge to repeal the back dated legislation which says that the filching of this money never occurred.
You won’t get away with it Helen. You are not going to get away with it. The Republicans to reinstate that legislation
You cannot walk away with hundreds of thousands of tax payer money and use it to advance your own party.
So if you like the sound of some of the things you have heard from the candidates here, the launch of the New Start campaign with 5 Ways Forward you need to
Look at the web site, www.republicans.org.nz
Speak to a candidate like Dave Llewell here in Mt Albert and our other candidates around the country
Just remember New Zealand, when you go to the polls you need to tick Llewell in Mt Albert, you need to tick Republican in your party box because it is time for a New Start and it is time for a better way with 5 Ways Forward.
