Child Abuse by Bureaucracy

Republic of NZ Party candidate for Tauranga, Hans Laven, today accused the government of abusing children through its policies.

“The policies of the Clark government have led to more and more broken homes and the ongoing de-fathering of children’s lives.”

“NZ refused to sign the Doha U.N. convention in support of families because it didn’t suit Labour’s idea that any combination of adults choosing to live alone or together should be seen as equal to biological parents.”

Mr Laven claims that parental authority is being undermined by laws based on faulty ideology. He cited recent figures that showed huge increases in forced removal of children from their parents.

“This government believes that it owns our children. Under a childless Prime Minister Labour politicians and their political bed-buddies think they know better than parents about raising their own children.”

“At a time when children more than ever need the strength and authority that fathers can provide, the Clark government continues to promote a culture that blames and undermines men. It continues to preside over a Family Court that destroys parental goodwill and cooperation.”

Mr Laven said that priorities for the Republic of NZ Party included protecting and supporting the real family whether together or apart, and ensuring that fathers were able to remain fully involved in children’s upbringing.

More and more of our nation’s youth are from broken homes and they are showing how they feel through antisocial and violent offending.

“Give the Republic of NZ Party some political muscle if you want to see our youth belonging again, thriving again with security and identity from strong family relationships.”
