Democracy the way it should be!

Youth Offenders.

Republicans Law and Order Spokesman Bevan Berg said he was struggling to understand the attitude coming from the NZ First Youth Spokesman Ron Mark toward New Zealand’s youth.

I think Mr Mark has learned some bad habits from his leader said Mr Berg,

“Pick issues, hammer them to death, and hope for 5%”

Ron Mark says the government needs to lower the age of criminal responsibility. This is effectively an attack on the young men of New Zealand, said Mr Berg, and family oriented New Zealanders should show the same intolerance to criminalising our 10 – 14 year old youth as we did to the proposed lowering of the age of consent for girls, from 16 years to 12 years of age.

This is another attack on the family and we need to show this Government the same resolve about Ron Mark’s proposal as we did to the repeal of section 59.

Waving the big stick of criminal jurisdiction is a great way to divert public attention from the real issues facing ordinary New Zealanders, like whether our schools actually still cater for the needs of boys and, whether our youth will have jobs when they leave school.

Most of all these youngsters need guidance and a job said Mr Berg, they don’t need incarceration and unemployment to undermine their future prospects.

Who with any sort of social conscience and armed with the facts on life in New Zealand, would send our children to the criminal jurisdiction, rather than face up to our social failings, he said.

Ends.
