Personal statements to parliament are available to MP’s to protect their integrity when they identify a genuine mistake, at the time they identify it. 

This is not the case, with Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters, who has had every opportunity to investigate the situation regarding his recent misreporting to parliament.

Rather than stand up and admit he has been busted, Mr Peters has chosen to abuse the parliamentary process, to cover his indiscretion, and this is a contemptuous act toward our parliament 

The day before says Mr Bevin,

Winston Peters joked about the matter in parliament “saying to err is human to forgive is divine,” well now it is time for the comedian to be laughed at.

On the other side of the coin, says Mr Bevin,

“We are left to wonder, whether the Foreign Affairs Ministry, is working with the Minister, or the Government.”
