State of the Family.
“The Kiro kids cop out scheme would spend most of its allocated
$5,000,000, saving children that don’t need to be saved”,
says Republicans family spokesman, Jimmy Bagnall.
It is a bit like spending $2,000,000 on an employment website
that doesn’t get immigrants jobs, he added.
Making it compulsory for every family’s progress to be monitored
by an authorised provider will only create another unnecessary
social industry, draining away an ever increasing amount of taxes,
and of course it will assist the Government to believe it is achieving
something. What exactly, we are not sure.
It is not a project that will save lives.
“Most families manage admirably, without being taxed to get a
certificate of approval from the State to say they managed
admirably”, says Bagnall.
We have an organisation called Child Youth and Family that
is not being held accountable for its failings.
Demanding accountability instead of dabbling in social engineering
might save children’s lives.
“Another issue that this concept does not address is getting help
to young mothers who will deliver babies with foetal alcohol syndrome,
a very much ignored but increasing problem,” says Mr Bagnall.
“If we are going to spend to resolve these problems then money needs
to go to existing agencies, who can get along side insecure families
and provide real help, but that is after we increase the level of
accountability we are not getting from CYF”, he said.
