No picnic for Fathers.
“It is still no picnic for fathers in New Zealand, while de-fathering continues under Helen and the funny girls”, says the Republicans leader Kerry Bevin.
By allowing this Government to continue unchallenged in the implementation of its pink policy we leave unaddressed the underlying causes of family devastation.
“Family discipline is undermined and violence encouraged by Helen’s provocative feminist agenda, leaving fathers unable to fulfil their social obligations”, said Mr Bevin;
“The gender bias in social policy must change”, he added.
“The paradox is that the PM knows nothing of day to day mothering, let alone fathering, because she has not experienced this at a human level. A grandfather knows this human truth,” says Mr Bevin;
“At least the National Party is lead by real fathers, not academic substitutes,” he added.
“Will Labour continue to be the social engineering party, or as Mike Moore has suggested, will it give Helen the Christmas kiss goodbye?” asks the Republican.
The Republicans would balance social and family policy, and a decision that must be made is; do we open a Ministry of Men’s Affairs, or do we close the Ministry of Women’s Affairs?
Republican Policy in this area includes:
• More male teachers in schools.
• Tax remix in favour of families
• Improving family planning and parenting through Plunket.
• Easier paternity testing.
• Reviewing the DPB
• Child Support reform
• Subsidised prostate screening
• Support for separated fathers
The Republicans will be supporting the Fathers picnic 2008. Next year a vote for the Republicans will be a vote for the family.
“We will not be engaging in the cynical use of this word just for votes,” said Mr Bevin.
