Labour Day – Labour Demise.
Labours betrayal is now complete, says Republicans employment spokesman and Party Chairman Dave Llewell.
“The recent rumblings in the South Island may well have been West Coast Miners turning in their graves,” he adds.
Labour Day is recognition of the fight for fair Pay and Conditions, and has its origins in the fight against conscription, but the irony is that we now willingly export skilled jobs at a loss.
With the undermining of skilled apprenticeships and the recent abolition of youth rates we have seen work casualized, in line with our current teaching of non competitive educational apathy.
If we want to be the masters of our own destiny them we must equip ourselves with an education and skills that will rebuild our future prospects, after successive governments have evaporated the dream of home ownership, invested control of our assets with foreign owners, and traded quality for inferiority.
After labours decadent decade in office, there is obviously no vision or plan for the future when the only answer to a health system in crisis is silence, because you can’t put a bill in the house to fix ministerial irresponsibility.
The Republicans will be asking themselves this Labour Day,
“Is Maharey the man who might have been or the first rat off the sinking ship, before managed failure becomes the spectre of one woman’s shadow ?
