“Kiwi Bank must be brought up to full commercial status”, says the Republicans economics spokesman and party leader Kerry Bevin.

We need to give our bank increased support to reduce foreign exploitation of New Zealand and increase our financial security.  We need a Bank that will support New Zealand families, and the Republicans will ensure that this asset is protected, says Mr Bevin.

 “We are not going to see this bank filched the way the BNZ was,” he said.

We need to put more Kiwis back into home ownership, and Kiwi Bank is the vehicle the Republicans would use.  We can drive down speculation in our property market, and give more New Zealanders an asset to value and invest in, says the Republican.

 “It is time to put an end to the destructive manipulation of our economy, by cynical political parties, who think this is their toy to engineer election victories with.” 

 “The Clark Cullen duo will loose all credibility after this Labour fiasco, when we see the damage from a compressed economy with our dollar at destructive heights.”

We need to start backing ourselves, and make sure the reward for our efforts is returned to New Zealanders.  Full commercial status for Kiwi Bank will be a good start, said Mr Bevin.
